THIS SUNDAY - What does it mean to live by faith? How might that look in our daily life and what do we do when we face accusations that we’re not good enough? We’re looking at Galatians 2:15-21 so please join us in person at 10 a.m. or watch online at Church Online.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Volunteers for coffee on Sundays are needed, please contact Karen Rogers if you are able to volunteer.
DISCIPLESHIP - Dietrich Bonhoeffer said that Christianity without discipleship is Christianity without Christ. Powerful and firm words. How are you being discipled? Are you discipling anyone? Please contact Pastor Jason or the Leadership Team if you want to pursue discipleship further.
PLAN TO PROTECT TRAINING - Refresher training will be on Sunday, October 15th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the upstairs classroom (end of the hall). This is for Sunday School teachers and helpers, ushers, and board members who have done the initial training and need their yearly Refresher Training.
BENEVOLENCE INITIATIVE - Hmmm.... I wonder what the Caring Team Ministry's Benevolence Initiative for the month of October is?" Well! Wonder no longer! Any and all funds donated to C.F.B.C.'s Benevolence Fund in October will be forwarded along to Youth For Christ's High School Breakfast Program. The YFC staff have a remarkable opportunity (conversation by conversation), to share the love of Jesus with the students at Duchess Park, and we are blessed with the opportunity to support them in this twice/week, compassionate undertaking! 'A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.'(Proverbs 11:25).
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & POTLUCK - Will be held on October 22nd after the service. This is a time when we reflect on the previous ministry year, vote on the upcoming budget, and celebrate what Christ will be doing in the coming year. This year we will be counting on everyone to please bring a dish to share for lunch after the service.
DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE - CFBC will be having a ‘You Are My Sunshine’ daddy-daughter dance, this is a great opportunity to get some personal time with your daughters. The event will be held on Friday, October 27th between 5-8 pm. There will be dinner, dancing, activities, and photos. All proceeds will be donated to the Hope for Women charity. To RSVP please contact: Email Emilie before October 17th.
GIVING - Generosity has little to do with how much you have. It has everything to do with the attitude of your heart and your faithful obedience to God. Generosity is one of those perspective-altering things…when we focus on the needs of others, we become less selfish and happier. When you only think about the things you don’t have or how miserable things are, it’s tough not to feel bad. But when you think about God’s goodness and grace, despite our own mess-ups, our perspective changes. You can place your gifts in the donation box in the foyer or use the debit machine there. You can also give via eTransfers donations@centralfellowship.ca or online at Give Online.
