THIS SUNDAY - We will be wrapping up our series on the Beatitudes. Jesus closes this intro to the Sermon on the Mount with a double portion of persecution. What is it? Is there a threat of persecution here in the West? Please come join us in person at 10 a.m. or watch online at Church Online.
FREEDOM SESSION GRADUATION - Come join us on Monday evening, May 6th at 7:00 pm at CFBC as we celebrate with those who are graduating from Freedom Session. This is an excellent time to show support to those who have put in much work over this last year to work on themselves and to draw near to the LORD. If you are interested in hearing more about Freedom Session this is your opportunity!
PLAN TO PROTECT TRAINING - On Monday, June 10th from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm, there will be a training session for all the new volunteers that signed up for the nursery ministry and club DJ (pizza will be provided). Please make sure you mark your calendars as you need to complete the training to become qualified for the position you are applying for. If you need an application please contact the office or Karen Walkey
JOB OPPORTUNITY - We are in need of someone to step up to the role of Janitor for the end of this coming June. If anyone is interested or would know someone who would be interested in the job please reach out to the office for more information.
MISSION OPPORTUNITY - Are you a teacher or administrator that the Lord is nudging towards something new? Mission Aviation Fellowship recruits teachers for mission schools around the world, including Hillcrest. Currently, they have a real need for a multi-grade elementary teacher in Wamena (where one of the MAF bases is, Central Papua). Please follow the link to Register or if you want more information please talk to Wendy Graham.
NESS LAKE FAMILY WORK WEEKEND - We are so excited to welcome you and your family to our annual Family Work Weekend on May 17-20, 2024! You help us accomplish so much in such a short time period! We have opened up our tenting and RV spots for those who would like to come out in their own accommodations again this year! There are limited spots for cabin, RV and tenting, and unlimited spots for those who do not need accommodations (plan to commute out). We provide meals, and tools (if you choose to bring out speciality tools that's great, but please label them and keep track of them) and you provide the work. There is no cost to register for Family Work Weekend. Confirmation emails will be sent a couple of weeks before the session with more details including specific times. However, we can tell you that our weekend begins after dinner on Friday and concludes midday on Monday. Sunday is a day set aside for play and worship. Please Note: All campers under 19 must be accompanied by an adult.
MISSION ROKEBY - Before we moved into our house, our realtor helped us visit our neighbours to introduce ourselves. The piece of land behind us is a small fruit farm owned by an elderly couple. The husband inquired about our level of Japanese and looked disappointed when the realtor let him know that we did not speak much Japanese. Fast forward two months, and Andrew is in our small yard finishing his first attempt at cutting Peter's hair. Over wander the farmer and his wife. Armed with big smiles and two weeks of language study, we had a great (albeit broken) conversation with our new friends. We say friends because they have promised us some of their grapes and Asian pears! Please pray that we would continue to grow in our language proficiency, so that we can plant seeds during our next cross-fence chat. To Read More Click Here.
