THIS SUNDAY - We will be finishing up our time in the Gospel of Luke as we focus on the end of chapter 14. How do we count the cost of following Jesus? Is it even possible? Do we really need to give up everything, and if so, what would that look like? Come join us in person at 10:00am or online at: Church Online.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & POTLUCK - Will be held on October 27th after the service. This is a time when we reflect on the previous ministry year, vote on the upcoming budget, and celebrate what Christ will be doing in the coming year. We will be having a potluck after the sunday service, please bring a dish to share. The theme will be ‘winter casseroles’, although salads and desserts are always welcome as well!
MOVIE NIGHT ‘THE FORGE’ - CFBC will be having a movie night at the church on Friday, November 8th with two showings (6:45 pm and 9pm) tickets can be purchased online through the link. Click here for the movie trailer.
GIESBRECHT MEAL TRAIN - The church has created a meal train for the Giesbrecht family after the unexpected loss of their sister Lynnelle Giesbrecht on October 1st. Kristy Giesbrecht will also be having an invasive surgery on Oct 21st where she will need to have the time to heal. I am setting up this meal train for them in case there is anyone at the church able to provide some dinners for them so they can take the time to grieve and rest as a family. Please click here to sign up.
OCTOBER BENEVOLENCE INITIATIVE - “Our benevolence opportunity this month is toward the ministry of St. Vincent de Paul’s Drop-In Centre. All monetary gifts received in CFBC’s Benevolence Fund during October will be sent (via cheque) directly to St. Vincent de Paul. Jesus stated “I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me — you did it to me.” (Matthew 25:40 MSG) CFBC’s Caring Ministry”
LEADERSHIP TEAM RETREAT - The Leadership Team will be heading to Houston, BC for a retreat on November 2nd. Please pray for safety and that this would be a time to revitalise, refresh and connect with one another!
YOUTH GROUP - We are excited to announce our initial plans to engage with our youth at CFBC. This will start with a Youth Class run on Sunday mornings, for grades 7-12, on a one-month-on and one-month-off schedule. This time together is meant to help bridge being in Sunday School to actively participating in our church family.
FRIEND-RAISING DESSERT NIGHT - QUESNEL & PG - Ness Lake Bible Camp's annual Friend-Raising Dessert nights are coming up very soon! Tickets are $20/person (childcare is free, with limited spaces). Join us for a time of connection, stories and laughs as we celebrate past success and look ahead to more great years of sharing the Gospel! Doors open at 6pm for each event. Prince George: We will gather at Westwood Church on Friday November 8th and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
CFBC NEWSLETTER - If you know of someone who is new to the church, ask them if they signed up for our newsletter? Which can help them stay up to date with the church events and updates. Let them know they can sign up by talking to Chelsea Martin or by emailing office@centralfellowship.ca
GIVING - Because you give, we can hire staff, purchase supplies, purchase curriculum, and teach kids about Jesus. We’re teaching Bible stories to your children to lay a foundation for God’s actions in their lives. We’re discipling people in their walk with Jesus. And your giving makes that possible. We’re so proud to be a part of a church that takes this mission seriously. You can also give via eTransfers donations@centralfellowship.ca or online at Give Online.
